  • Receiving and weighing

When the roots from the cultivated areas arrive, these should be received and weighed on a platform balance.

  • Storage

The maniocs are transported via conveyor belts from the storage location to the washing area. The selection is visually checked over the conveyor belt, eliminating potatoes that are not suitable.

  • Washing and Peeling

In the washing and peeling process, the manioc is perfectly washed and peeled with water, the skin is peeled by abrasion. The clean and peeled manioc then goes to the mill.

  • Mill

The manioc is taken via conveyor belt to the mincer and then to the Super Rasp mill, where they are scraped until they are converted into a thin paste (cream).

  • Extraction of Starch

The starch is separated from the cellulose with a multiple extractor. This machine, using a drying force, separates the starch from the cellulose (grains or fiber) using a special hydrocyclone extractor.

    Washing and Concentration of Starch

“The milk” that comes from the hydrocyclone extractors contains protein, fatty material and insoluble substances that are received in a tank where it is transferred via a pump to the hydrocyclones to extract the starch.

    Draining

The starch is transferred to the centrifuges until it reaches a humidity of 38% and then via a worm, it is transferred to the instantaneous Flash Dryer.

    Drying

The damp starch is dried by a hot air current by the instantaneous “Flash” process.

    Sieving

The starch is sieved in a machine which refines it.

    Bagging And Weighing

The sieve has a dispenser through which the starch is encased in polypropylene bags and then it is weighed.

    Storage

The obtained starch should be stored in a dry and cool place.
