Recovery Of Starch From The Manioc Fibers

Manufacturing of starches, potatoes and manioc.

Sequence of process for the collecting of Starch.

  • Receiving and weighing

When the potatoes from the cultivated areas arrive, these should be received and weighed on a platform balance.

  • Storage

The storage of raw materials should be divided in sections so as to separate for shipping.

  • Washing and Peeling

In the washing and Peeling machines, the maniocs are perfectly washed and peeled with water, the skins are peeled by abrasion. The clean and peeled maniocs then go to the mill.

    Mill

The manioc is taken via conveyor belt to the mincer and then to the Super Rasp mill, where they are scraped until they are converted into a thin paste (cream).

    Draining

The flour is transferred to the centrifuges until it reaches a humidity of 38% and then via a transporter it is taken to the instantaneous Flash Dryer.

    Drying

The damp flour is dried by a hot air current by the instantaneous “Flash” process.

    Sieving

The flour is sieved in a machine which refines it.

    Bagging And Weighing

The sieve has a dispenser through which the starch is encased in polypropylene bags and then it is weighed.

    Storage

The obtained flour should be stored in a dry and cool place.
